Travellers, who are looking for heart stopping, adrenalin pumping action during their vacation, could not choose a better location than Alaska. Alaska is the most northern, the largest and the most sparsely populated state in the U.S.A. but, for tourists who are seeking the ultimate in Adventure Travel Destinations, Alaska has more to offer than almost any other part of the world.

Advanced technology and modern communication systems have made touring Alaska much safer and easier than it was in bygone times. However, the frontier spirit still exists in most parts of the state and adventurous journeys into unexplored, wilderness areas can still be enjoyed by the thrill seeker, who is looking for the ultimate Travel Adventure Destination.

There are many items of interest to be enjoyed in Alaska, the challenge of scaling the highest peak in the U.S.A., Mount McKinley is open to the mountain climbing enthusiast. Well marked trekking trails are available for tourists that are looking for an enjoyable walk that will enable them to take in the scenery without the risk of getting lost.

For the fittest and most experienced trekker, the country side is at your disposal, one can trek through wilderness areas for days or weeks without coming into contact with, or seeing sign of, another human being. You are advised to inform the Alaska Public Lands Center of your intention before embarking on such a venture.

There are many lakes and estuaries in Alaska to be explored. Tour guides are available to guide you through a variety of wilderness areas in canoe safaris. Groups are guided through pristine waters in utmost silence to observe nature at first hand, camp on islands and trek through virgin bush land that forms the boundaries of these majestic water ways.

Alaska, of course, provides the perfect venue for winter sports. Cross country skiing, ice skating and sledding activities are in abundance. Dogsled outfitters are available to guide you on a dog-sled tour into the back country where the natural beauty of the countryside can be enjoyed. One can even win a prize for making the best snowman, if that is your forte.
